Do try this mouthwatering Pista Shahi Tukray Recipe by Rida Aftab! Truly a royal dessert, as its name suggests, Shahi Tukray is a rich bread pudding with pistachios, flavored with cardamom. It's simple to make and a great dessert for times when you're in a hurry.

Ingredients
  • 1 large bread
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 liter milk
  • 125 gm khoya
  • 50 gm pistachios
  • 2 drops of green food color
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp kewra water
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • silver foil for garnishing
Cooking Method
  1. Cut bread slices into triangles.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium high heat.
  3. Fry bread slices on each side for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Remove from the oil and keep aside.
  5. Boiled milk in a saucepan.
  6. Then reduce heat to low, add cardamom powder, green food color, kewra essence and sugar.
  7. Cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
  8. Now add condensed milk and cook for 4-5 minutes or until thickened.
  9. Place bread slices in a serving dish.
  10. Sprinkle khoya and pistachios over it.
  11. Pour milk mixture over it.
  12. Garnish with silver foil and pistachios.
  13. Pista Shahi Tukary is ready to serve.

Serve chilled.
