For Sponge Cake:

For Filling:

Fresh cream whipped with 1 ounce icing sugar

Make shortcrust pastry, and place in an 8-inch pie plate.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

Make a chocolate sponge, and keep it aside.
To assemble

Put the baked shortcrust pastry on a cake platter.

Cover with any jam then cover with a sponge.

Drizzle the cherry syrup over it.

Pipe cream on the sides in the round and leave the center empty.

Put the prepared cherry sauce in the center.

Cover with the second layer of cake.

Soak with syrup, and cover the top and sides of the cake with cream.

Decorate with grated chocolate on top and sides Fresh cream and cherries.
