Ingredients
For Cupcakes:
  • 1-½ cups Flour
  • 1-½ cups Caster sugar
  • ¾ cup Cocoa powder
  • 1-½ tsp Baking soda
  • ¾ tsp Baking powder
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • ¾ cup Butter milk
  • ¾ cup Warm water
  • ¼ cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
Buttercream Icing:
  • 1-½ cups Unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 3-4 cups Icing sugar
Cooking Method
To Make the Cupcakes:
  1. In a large bowl, sieve together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  2. Add eggs, buttermilk, warm water, oil, and vanilla.
  3. Beat until smooth.
  4. Fill each cupcake case 2/3 full.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees C for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cupcakes comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool completely.
To make the Frosting:
  1. Beat butter until fluffy.
  2. Add in cocoa powder and vanilla essence.
  3. Beat in icing sugar, 1 cup at a time.
  4. Transfer frosting to a piping bag and pipe onto completely cooled cupcakes.
  5. Delicious Chocolate Cupcakes are ready to serve.
