This Lahori Fish Fry Recipe by Rida Aftab is prepared by marinating fresh fish fillets in a blend of spices, including cumin, coriander, red chili powder, and gram flour, before deep-frying to golden perfection. Goes great with mint chutney and naan.

Ingredients
  • 500 gm Fish
  • 2 tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp dried fenugreek
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp Salt
  • 1-1/2 tbsp Fish masala
  • 4 tbsp Gram flour
  • Oil for frying as required
Cooking Method
  1. Rinse off the fish with cold running water, inside and out, to remove remaining blood, entrail bits, and remaining scales.
  2. Pat the fish down dry with a paper towel.
  3. In a bowl, dried fenugreek, red chili powder, garlic paste, lemon juice, fish masala, salt and gram flour. Add the fish pieces and mix well to coat evenly.
  4. Cover and marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry fish for 5 minutes on each side or until cook from the inside and golden brown and crispy from ythe outside.
  7. Remove from the oil and place in an absorbent paper to drain excess oil.
  8. Delicious Lahori Fish is ready to serve

Serve hot with Naan and Chutney.
