  • 1 kg chicken cut into 16 pieces
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 1 to mato finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 8 whole red chilies
  • 1 tsp onion seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Cooking Method
  1. Heat oil in a deep pot.
  2. Add chopped onions in it and fry for2-3 minutes or until transparent.
  3. Now add onion seeds, whole red chilies, ginger garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Then add tomato, salt, red chili powder and turmeric powder.
  5. Stir and cook for 2 minutes
  6. Put chicken pieces in it.
  7. Cook for 5-8 minutes or its change colour.
  8. Then add ½ cup water.
  9. Cover with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes
  10. Then add yogurt.
  11. Cover again and cook for 10 minutes or until chicken is tender and oil comes on top.
  12. Take it out in a serving bowl.
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  14. Balti Chicken is ready to serve.
  15. ENJOY!!
Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with paratha or naan.
