A popular counter part to KFC Chicken, this Al Baik Chicken recipe by Chef Zakir is just so mouth watering that you will never go back to any fast food chains after you try this at home.

  • 1 Whole chicken with skin
  • 2 Lemons
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Corn flour
  • 2 cups Plain flour
  • 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp Red food colour
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 2 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 4 tbsp Red chilli powder
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • oil for frying
  • salt to taste
Cooking Method
  1. Cut chicken into eight large pieces with the skin intact.

  2. In a small bowl, combine together the lemon juice, red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, olive oil and salt and fill in to a syringe.

  3. Marinate chicken pieces with ginger garlic paste and salt to taste.

  4. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and keep aside.

  5. In another bowl, combine plain flour and cornflour together.

  6. Dip chicken in beaten eggs and coat with plain flour.
  7. Repeat process by dipping each chicken piece in egg followed by plain flour again.

  8. Fill the chicken with prepared spice mix with a syringe.

  9. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat and fry chicken in a covered pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Al Baik Chicken is ready to be served.

  1. You can use self-raising flour instead of plain flour to coat chicken.

Serve with any dips of your choice.
