This is an easy to make Tandoori Chicken Recipe by Rida Aftab, for everyone who happens not to have a tandoor sitting in the middle of your kitchen! Made with accessible ingredients from scratch, chicken is infused with flavor from a yogurt tandoori chicken marinade then baked until golden with little charred bits. So YUM!

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 1 tsp Roasted Ground Cumin
  • 2 tbsp Pomegranate seeds ground
  • 1 tbsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 4 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • ½ cup Oil
  • 1 tsp All Spice Powder
  • 1 tsp Carom seeds
  • ½ cup Yogurt
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 2 Onion
  • 2 Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 4 tbsp Beet root water
Cooking Method
  1. In a clean bowl, mix together the yogurt, ground cumin, pomegranate seeds, chaat masala, red chili powder, salt, black pepper powder, oil, lime juice, all spice powder, celery powder, ginger garlic and beet root water.
  2. Mix until well combined and keep aside.
  3. Meanwhile, make slits in the meat to the bone.
  4. Pour all the yogurt mixture evenly and marinate chicken for 1 hour to blend flavors.
  5. Once it is well marinated, heat oil in a wok and and cook the chicken for at least 20 minutes or until al the water dries up and chicken is no longer pink.
  6. Then transfer the chicken on a baking tray, add tomatoes and onions on the side of the tray and grill it for 10-15 minutes or until chicken is roasted.
  7. Tandoori Chicken is ready to serve.
Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with raita, salad and naan.
