Ingredients
  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 750 gm Tomatoes
  • 10 Green chilies
  • 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds roasted
  • 1 tsp Coriander seeds roasted
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves for garnish
  • Ginger juliennes for garnish
Cooking Method
  1. Heat oil in a wok or karahi over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces and fry well for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown in color.
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste and fry for a few more minutes.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilies.
  5. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Now add 1 tsp crushed red pepper and salt.
  8. Cook well.
  9. Then add in 8 whole green chilies. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  10. Add roasted crushed cumin seed, coriander seed and lemon juice.
  11. Mix well.
  12. Turn the flame off and dish it out.
  13. Garnish with ginger juliennes and coriander leaves.
  14. Halanaka Karahi is ready to serve.
