For Chicken:
  • 1 kg chicken cut into 16 pieces
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tsp chili sauce
  • 1 tsp red pepper crushed
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
For Baghar:
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 15 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 4 whole red chilies
Cooking Method
  1. Place chicken in a large pot or skillet.
  2. Add water, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, crushed red pepper, black pepper, salt.
  3. Cook for 15 minutes or until chicken is tender and water dries.
  4. In a small bowl, combine together ketchup, mayonnaise, chili sauce and butter.
  5. Now cook this sauce for 5 minutes then add sliced capsicum.
  6. Add boiled chicken to this sauce.
  7. Stir frequently.
  8. Cook for 10 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
  9. Take it out in a serving dish.
  10. Give baghar.
Method for Baghar:
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat.
  2. Add curry leaves, mustard seeds and whole red chilies.
  3. Fry for 1 minute then pour over top of chicken.
  4. Mayonnaise Chicken is ready to serve.
