A super quick, Pakistani-style Chicken Brown Karahi Recipe By Chef Zakir, in which chicken is cooked in a yogurt and black pepper based sauce.  Make it with freshly crushes black pepper (kali mirch) for maximum taste. Goes great with Raita and Naan.

  • 500 gm Chicken
  • 250 gm plain Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp crushed black pepper
  • 4-5 Green chilies
  • ¼ bunch Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds crushed
  • 1 tbsp Coriander seeds crushed
  • salt to taste
  • 1 medium piece of ginger thinly sliced
Cooking Method
  1. Heat ghee in a wok over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and sauté till golden brown.
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste and chicken. Cook and stir well for 8-10 minutes or until all juices run clear and chicken is no longer pink.
  4. Then add salt, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, crushed black pepper and yogurt.
  5. Cover and cook on medium flame for 20 minutes or until chicken is almost done.
  6. Now remove the lid.
  7. Add chopped green chilies, coriander leaves and ginger slices.
  8. Cook well on high flame for 1 – 2 minutes until all water dries up and sauce is thickened.
  9. Now take it out in a serving dish.
  10. Delicious Chicken Brown Karahi is ready to serve.
Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with Naan and salad.
