  • 500 gm chicken cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 large Onion sliced
  • 2 Capsicum cut into strips
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1-¼ tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1-½ tbsp All spice powder
  • 3 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 inch piece Ginger chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves as required
Cooking Method
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Deep fry the onions for few minutes or until light brown in color.
  3. Drain on an absorbent paper and set aside to cool.
  4. Grind it to a fine paste.
  5. Heat two tablespoons oil in another pan.
  6. Add capsicum strips and sauté.
  7. Remove and set aside on absorbent paper.
  8. Add garlic paste to the same oil and sauté for half a minute.
  9. Add tomatoes and cook.
  10. Heat butter in another pan, add chicken strips and keep stirring continuously till golden brown in color.
  11. Add red chili powder, all spice powder, tomato ketchup and salt and mix well.
  12. Cover and cook till tender.
  13. Add fried onion paste, ginger and capsicum and sauté for two minutes.
  14. Add the tomato-garlic mixture and mix well and cook for few more minutes.
  15. Turn the flame off and dish it out.
  16. Garnished with coriander leaves.
  17. Delicious Chicken Jalfrezi is ready to serve.
