It is ​a Pakistani or North Indian cuisine. Dal and spices gives a twist to your usual mutton curry and tastes delicious. Ingredients
  • 1/2 kg boneless mutton cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups boiled gram lentil
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 blended tomatoes
  • 4 whole red chilies
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 2 tsp red chili
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • salt to taste
For Tarka:
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 12 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp onion seeds
  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Cooking Method
  1. Put mutton in a deep wok or pot.
  2. Add 2 cups water, ginger garlic and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 45 minutes or until nearly done.
  4. Heat oil in a separate wok, add 4 dry red chilies and boiled mutton.
  5. Cook for 2 minutes then add turmeric powder, red chili, all spice and blended tomatoes.
  6. Cook for 5 minutes or until oil comes out the top.
  7. Now add plain yogurt.
  8. Cook for 10 minutes then add boiled gram lentil.
  9. Cover with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes or until tender.
  10. Take it out in a serving bowl.
  11. Prepared Tarka and put on dal.
  12. Daal Mutton is ready now.
Serving Suggestions

Serve hot with boiled rice or chapati.
