This Kentucky Butter Cake Recipe By Shireen Anwar, is CRAZY moist, buttery and coated with a sweet buttery sauce that crusts the outside and soaks into the cake making it amazing for days.

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup milk add 1 tbsp lemon juice to make it buttermilk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 4 eggs
Butter Sauce:
  • ¾ cups fine sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
Cooking Method
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup butter.
  2. Then gradually add 2 cups sugar, 4 eggs, buttermilk, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and vanilla essence.
  3. Grease and flour liberally a 10” Bundt cake pan.
  4. Pour batter in the prepared pan.
  5. Bake at 165 degrees for 60 minutes.
For the Sauce:
  1. Cook over low heat the sugar, butter and water and add in the essence.
  2. Cook for few minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Do not let it boil.
  4. Pick the warm cake with a skewer and pour the sauce over the cake slowly.
  5. Delicious Kentucky Butter Cake is ready to serve.
